LIPIFLOW DRY EYE TREATMENT
Targeted Treatment for Evaporative Dry Eye
When blocked Meibomian glands contribute to your dry eye symptoms, LipiFlow may help address the underlying gland blockage.
At In2Eyes, we first assess your eyes to understand whether Meibomian Gland Dysfunction is contributing to your symptoms. If appropriate, LipiFlow can form part of a personalised dry eye treatment plan.

HOW LIPIFLOW WORKS
What Is LipiFlow?
LipiFlow is a thermal pulsation treatment designed to help clear blocked Meibomian glands.
Warm
Controlled heat is applied around the eyelids.
Massage
Gentle pressure helps target blocked glands.
Support Oil Flow
Clearing blockages can help support natural oil production for the tear film.
BEFORE TREATMENT
The Right Treatment Starts With The Right Assessment
LipiFlow isn’t necessarily right for every patient.
During a comprehensive dry eye assessment, our optometrists use the Oculus Keratograph 5M and other clinical measurements to assess your tear film and Meibomian glands.
These findings help us determine whether LipiFlow or another treatment may be appropriate for you.
YOUR APPOINTMENT
What To Expect During LipiFlow
The treatment is performed in the practice and is designed to be a straightforward experience.
Prepare
Your optometrist will assess your eyes and determine whether LipiFlow is appropriate.
Treatment
The activators are placed around the eyelids while controlled warmth and gentle pressure are applied.
Relax
Treatment takes approximately 12 minutes per eye, with both eyes treated simultaneously.
Review
Your progress can be reviewed after treatment and your ongoing care adjusted if needed.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT
Results Can Vary From Patient To Patient
Some patients notice improvement within weeks, while others may take longer to experience changes as the Meibomian glands recover and oil production improves.
Because dry eye is a chronic condition, LipiFlow is not considered a permanent cure. Your results can depend on your gland health, lifestyle, general health and other individual factors.
PREPARING FOR YOUR ASSESSMENT
How To Prepare
A few simple steps can help us get the most useful information from your initial dry eye assessment.
If you use prescription eye medication, follow your optometrist’s instructions and contact us if you are unsure what to do before your assessment.
WHY IN2EYES
LipiFlow As Part Of A Bigger Dry Eye Plan
We don’t recommend LipiFlow simply because you have dry eyes. We first look for the factors contributing to your symptoms and then discuss the most appropriate options.
YOUR NEXT STEP
Could LipiFlow Be Right For You?
The best way to find out is to start with a comprehensive dry eye assessment. Our optometrists can assess your eyes, explain what they find and discuss the treatment options that may be suitable for you.
